![]() ![]() Often the second version of a product takes a key evolutionary step, working out the kinks from the original design - but is that the case with the Aer Travel Pack 2? Well, let’s take a closer look at its features. I think a great carry-on pack needs to be many things: it must be the right size, have a sleek design, and have enough pockets to organize your things. It’s definitely a big help when it comes to organizing my things perfectly, keeping the smallest yet important things such as my passport and visa up to the largest valuables I have like my clothes and camera. ![]() Months after I sold it I noticed that Aer made a small version that fixed both pain points for me so I picked it up.What’s got me more interested in this Aer Travel Pack 2 is the number of organization pockets it has - from its external pockets to its interior compartments. I was using it a lot for photography, so I had to do this constantly to get out and put away gear. ![]() It was so frustrating to always have to unsnap and snap them to get in and out of the bag. The compression straps were my main pain point. This is ultimately my fault, but the larger size was an enabler. Due to the size I would end up having a heavier pack and would always regret this during a trip. I sold the full size after a trip because I found 33L to be a bit large, and the compression straps were annoying. Everything but size of the compartment seems identical to me. The shoe compartment was able to fold way, similar to the Small version. There is a lot of laptop sleeve talk so I would recommend checking it out. I am not sure if that carried over to the normal version. Maybe see if you can find a more recent review as opposed to one that was published around the time the TP 2 came out.ĮDIT: This tread suggests it was updated for the X-Pac version. Thinking back I believe they added it to newer versions of the bag without making a version 3. I don't remember if the laptop sleeve had a false bottom, but I don't think it did (could be wrong here!). I had the X-Pac version of the Travel Pack 2 and used it for several trips, but ultimately sold it. Can’t wait to use a new set up when travel is safe to do so! Apologies for my format, I am on mobile.Įdit: sorry my phone autocorrected “Aer” in the title and I’m on mobile and it won’t let me change the title? I saw on another review the Travel Pack 2 doesn’t let you fold up the shoe compartment like it does in the 2 small.Īnyone have either of these bags and could give me your insight?! It’s quite a lot of money for me to dump on a bag.Īlthough I haven’t been traveling because of the pandemic, I’ve been slowly upgrading and swapping out travel gear & setups that haven’t worked. The 2 small also has the fold up shoe compartment, which I probably wouldn’t use for shoes for a 28L bag but would maybe use it for dirty laundry or something. I was trying to figure out if the Travel Pack 2 has a false laptop bottom because some reviews I saw on YouTube say the Travel Pack 2 small has it but travel pack 2 doesn’t? I also like the look of the 2 small without compression straps even though they might be useful. I am a petite lady, 5’2 so I don’t want anything that would be super big for my frame. I am considering between the travel pack 2 small because of the false laptop bottom, looks a bit stealthier and less “touristy”(idk if that’s even the right word) than the Aer Travel Pack 2. Hey everyone! Searched for the Aer Travel Pack 2 small on this sub and haven’t found anything super recent. ![]()
